Terms of Use

Last updated September 20, 2026

CueStep helps studios, parents, and dance teachers find and book each other. By creating an account or using CueStep you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, so please do.

What CueStep is (and isn't)

CueStep is a matching and booking tool. We are not a party to any booking, and we are not anyone's employer, agent, or staffing agency. Teachers are independent, and studios and parents decide for themselves who to hire. We don't supervise, train, or guarantee anyone on CueStep.

The trial

CueStep is an invite-only trial. Features may change, break, or be removed, and data may occasionally be reset. Please tell us when something doesn't work.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to have an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • One person, one account. Keep your password private — you're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Your profile (name, location, rates, styles, videos, ratings, and cancellation record) is visible to other signed-in CueStep members.

Bookings and payment for the class

A request is an offer from one member to another. A teacher can accept or decline it, and once accepted, the booking is a commitment between the two of you.

The class rate shown on a booking is the amount agreed between the studio or parent and the teacher, and it is paid directly from one to the other, outside CueStep. CueStep does not collect, hold, process, or guarantee that payment, and is not responsible if it isn't made. Agree the details between yourselves, including any invoices, taxes, and how the teacher is classified for work purposes — those are your responsibility.

The booking fee

CueStep may charge the studio or parent a flat booking fee when a teacher accepts a request. During the trial this fee is waived ($0). If we start charging it, we will tell you before it applies, and it will be charged to the card saved for the request, with card details handled by our payment provider, Stripe. If a teacher cancels an accepted booking after a fee was charged, the fee is refunded to the studio or parent. If the studio or parent cancels, it is not.

Cancellations and your reliability record

  • The requester can withdraw a request until it's answered.
  • Either side can cancel an accepted booking until the class starts. Please do it as early as you can.
  • Requests nobody answers expire automatically.
  • We keep a record of who canceled accepted bookings and when. Your profile shows, for each role, how many bookings you've had, how many you canceled, and how many of those were within 48 hours of the class.
  • We may limit or remove accounts that repeatedly cancel late or otherwise let people down.

Ratings and reviews

After a booking is complete, each side can rate the other. Reviews must be honest and based on a real booking. Don't post fake, paid-for, retaliatory, or abusive reviews, and don't include private information about other people. Ratings are visible to other signed-in members, and we may remove content that breaks these rules.

Safety, children, and background checks

Many classes involve children. CueStep does not run background checks and does not verify anyone's identity, credentials, references, or qualifications. The "open to a background check" label on a profile only means the teacher says they're willing to have one — it is self-reported and not a check that has been done.

Studios and parents are responsible for deciding whom to trust with their students and for following any child-safety laws and studio policies that apply to them. Teachers are responsible for following the laws and policies that apply to their work. Use good judgment, and in an emergency contact emergency services first.

Acceptable use

Don't use CueStep to:

  • break the law or someone else's rights, or harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone;
  • pretend to be someone else or give false information;
  • spam other members or copy member information out of CueStep;
  • attempt to break, overload, or get around the security of the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to display it within CueStep so the service can work. Choreography videos are links to YouTube or Vimeo — we don't host the videos, they play from those services under their own terms, and you're responsible for having the right to share them.

Ending your account

You can stop using CueStep at any time and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put other members at risk.

No warranties

CueStep is provided "as is" and "as available," especially during the trial. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that you'll get bookings, or anything about the quality, safety, or reliability of any member.

Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, CueStep is not liable for anything that happens between members — including no-shows, unpaid class fees, injuries, property damage, or disputes — or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid CueStep in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as CueStep grows. When we make a significant change we'll let you know, and if you keep using CueStep after that, you accept the updated terms.

Contact

CueStep is invite-only right now, so the easiest way to reach us with a question, or a request about your account or data, is to contact the person who invited you to the trial.
